how do you say

"i've officially lost my mind" in japanese?*

Hanami Stole by Pink Lemon Twist
Henry's Attic Carrera (aka Silk and Ivory: 50/50 wool/silk, 2000ypp)
8/0 clear glass beads, lined in "colonial blue"
US 6/4.0mm US 5/3.75mm 24" addi
Started: July 2, 2007

I have just been captivated by this pattern, but didn't think I'd knit it any time soon since 1) its totally out of character for me to knit stoles 2) I didn't want to buy any new yarn and 3) its lace and I'm afraid of it :) Many thanks to Ravelry though-- after sorting and photographing the rest of my stash for my stash notebook (if you're not on ravelry yet, you can check out my flickr set of individual stash pics) I "remembered" I had this 3/4 cone of Carrera that I will never knit socks from since its too nice and too drapey. It seemed serendipitous, though finding yarn you purchased in your own house and stored not 2 feet from where you are sitting really isn't serendipity... so I went with it. Since I spent nothing (new) on yarn or needles, I made myself a set of double peanut pearl stitch markers (there's a similar set for sale in my shop)-- I really like them, and need all the help I can get with the lace repeats.

Home alone til Tuesday evening, lets see if I can get past this garter st border :)

*my grandma would know, but do i really want to explain?

I can't think of how to say that in Japanese, but it would be useful! :D Maybe I'll ask my Japanese friend. That pattern is totally gorgeous though. Very suitable name for it. :)

Ooh, Hanami is on my "must knit" list too, so I can't wait to see how yours turns out.

That design is so gorgeous and it's going to be beautiful in that yarn. I can't wait to see the finished piece!

That's a phrase that I would really like to know, actually....

That's beautiful. The cherry blossoms in DC are beautiful when in bloom as well..I went to the festival a few years ago. A fitting name for the stole.

Oh, that will be YUMMY - I have some Carrera, too... not that much, alas!

this is a very lovely pattern, and the yarn will be perfect for it. I have just started lace stole as well (gothic leaf stole) and I am grateful for the addi lace needles.

Man, I've been adding my stash to Ravelry and I'm scared! I have 67 things and I have just started the sock yarn!! I think I like it better hiding around so I can be in denial.

Then again, maybe like you it will help me use it...

What a great translation project! -_^ The closest I can get you is "気が狂ってきた", "Ki ga kuruttekita", or "[I] have lost my mind/gone crazy". (The "I", like so many other things in Japanese, is implied.) The grammar form itself implies that over time you've slowly come to this point of being crazy.

I'm not a native Japanese speaker, so I may be off... but I hope it's a help! ^_^

I've been eyeing that pattern -- it's been purchased, printed and just sits there, but I too am afraid of it. Thanks for taking the plunge! Can't wait to see how it goes!

I have yarn for the stole and definitely want to make it. Hmm, I might need to head over to your store for more stitch markers as I've started the Mystery stole.

I love the Hanami stole. the yarn you've chosen will really highlight the pattern's ethereal quality. Love the pearl stitch markers too!

The Hanami stole is one of my favourite patterns right now. I can't see how yours turns out! It might inspire me to start knitting lace.... (that I'll never use...)

Is the stole designed with beads or are you adding them as a design mod?
