...day 69 of no knitting content continues...
PoshYarn.co.uk
L to R: "Heckle" in Lucia, "Journal" in Emily, "Egg Yolk" in Lucia.
(Lucia: 4ply sock weight 70% merino 30% cashmere yarn. Each skein is 100g / 360 yards, Emily: 4ply sock weight 80% lambswool 10% cashmere 10% angora yarn. Each skein is 100g / 365 yards.)
No, I didn't join a sock club :) But I wanted to play along, esp. after seeing so many great ones roll around blogs lately.
This was my first Posh Yarn purchase-- she updates every Sunday at 10am PST (6pm GMT), and its a free for all. (What is it about yarn that drives us mad?) I usually pass over the preview since there are a lot of pastels that aren't my cup of joe, but the black in the "journal" colorway, and the bright yellow "egg yolk" was too much to bear :) I'm not as sure about the "heckle," but as with everything we'll see. The base yarns are wonderfully soft and cabled-- Lucia is 3 plies of 2-ply and Emily is 4 plies of 2-ply. Emily looks thicker than Lucia, though they're listed as the same weight/yardage. Handwash only, so unless someone changes their ways the cashmere socks are all mine :)
More on selfishness...
Blue Moon Fiber Arts Socks that Rock lightweight
L to R: Sunstone, Midsummer Night, Jasper, Tanzanite, Mustang Sally, Obsidian
I love STR, and love their semi-solids & watercolors even more. I may have been one of the last custom dye orders (I requested the Jasper & Tanzanite, the rest are available for sale on their site)... I read on the rockin' sock club blog that they aren't dyeing to order anymore (somewhere? can't find it now.) These were sitting at the post office for weeks, my mailman is getting even at me for getting so much cool stuff lately.
Cool stuff segue:
Newest shirt from threadless on its way, even though I hate light colored shirts:
(its not as cool as my "you sank my battleship" zipup from last-last week, but i'm an asia-phile, -racist, -littlekid...)
...and Knitting Nature is on sale @ Amazon for $8.99 (?!!) I picked up Runway Knits too... the wide rib light grey sweater on the bottom of the Knit Picks preview page has me... anxious. :)

Beautiful new yarns! You're my hero.
Knitting content not required as long as you keep showing such pretties.

Gorgeous new yarns! I see you did get Sunstone. I haven't done anything with mine yet. Soon. Oh, so very soon...
That was so not fair! First you show all thatr gorgeous yarn - I drooled a little but I just chanted my mantra MDS&W, MDS&W and I was ok. Then you throw in that bit about Knitting Nature (which I have really, really wanted) being on sale and my resolve melts. It's on it's way.
droooooool! And I *love* that shirt!
I also heard that you had an incident with your son and a marker awhile back (I must have missed it). Urgh!
Gah. Those are gooooorgeous! I hope the BMFA ladies keep up with the custom dyejobs because Tanzanite is something else altogether!
Posh yarn is fantastic. I wish I could use the Emily yarn, but I'm allergic to angora :(
69 days of no-knitting content? impressive! i thought i was bad after a couple of weeks. :)

And it's not just knitting nature that is marked down, as I discovered to my bruised checkbook's detriment....
I picked up that T-shirt too! I'm a sucker for a yarn T-shirt.
Love the private stash. The colors are great. I wish they were still taking custom orders. I read the same thing. I got one right before Christams. I miss that!
I want that shirt....and I casn;t find it on the website!
Gorgeous!! Love the STR....so pretty!!! I'm afraid to check out this "posh yarn"....cause that is beautiful too and I have one too many sock yarn addictions! Thanks for sharing!!
What beautiful yarns!
It hasn't been that long since you last posted some knitting. I remember seeing some socks here recently. Besides you're such the enabler, you're killing me! I bought some of your stitch markers this weekend and now I had to run over to Amazon. I've been wanting Knitting Nature for awhile, but left it on the backburner. For the price alone, the shipping is worth it to me to order it, so I did. Thanks, thanks alot Aija! :-) Beautiful new acquisitions.
Oh, the jasper & tanzanite are gorgeous. I wish the jasper was on their website.
You're right - the 'Emily' is thicker. i usually use 2.25mm or 2mm needles with sock yarn, (including Lucia) because I want them to wear well, but with 'Emily' I am happily using 2.5mm needles and getting a lovely fabric!
Hope you enjoy them. I'm going to see the Posh yarn stash in the flesh in a fortnight, at the Wonderwool Wales show - so I can't be too envious now of all your North American S&W shows!
Emily (Ginny)
That egg yolk is not only a GREAT name but a great color!!! The STR semi solids are really pretty - I have heard they do still pool a bit though. I have two skeins (rose quartz and star sapphire) that i have yet to try....I ordered my tshirt today!!!
I loved the Haiku t at Threadless. Loved the sheepy one too.
Ooo, I *love* the Heckle! If you decide you ever want to trade it for something I've got a broken down Thoroughbred ... :)
all this stash enhancement is making me hungry.... they look delicious!
Oh my ... I'm not the only one shopping, shopping, shopping. I so love the yarns. And yes, I already ordered both that tshirt & the hoodie sweatshirt from Threadless. I think you're the one that hooked me up with Threadless a long time ago.
Happy knitting, Aija!
Have you seen the "Will knit for tatoos" shirt over at Natalie Dee? (http://www.nataliedee.com/gallery-knit.php) I think it's pretty neat.
