of things I learned over the past few days.

Stockinette soothes my troubled soul.

GS1

So does an excellent pattern and fabulous yarn.

GS3

The bent wire stitch markers from my shop help, too.

Also...

Don't wax your own eyebrows when sad.

(pictureless, you sadists.)

:)

Have a good week!!

  3. Wow, handspun sock - it looks fantastic!

I bought a lovely eggplant yarn for those same stockings, and then I immediately worried that the pattern wouldn't pop as much as they did in the ivory. Thank you for assuaging me - these look fantastic!

Oh, and I hear ya. I like plucking my eyebrows when I'm upset - it gives me something to focus on. Unfortunately, it's not always the best thing for my eyebrows.

  8. Love the socks!! I have been eyeing the German Stockings. I think I will have to break down and make them.

  11. The gray and yellow socks are cool, but those purple ones are awesome. :-)

  12. Oh no, not the eyebrows!! *much sympathy*
The handspun sock looks fantastico! I love the colors melt and fade into each other - very nice. And I was planning to use my stashed skein of Fearless Fibers (Morocco) to knit that very pattern - excited to see how yours turn out! Be sure to let us know how much yarn is left (I'm a bit worried...)
PS - your beautiful pearl stitch markers are gracing my Millicent socks-in-progress at the moment :) My swap pal loved her set too!

  13. Gorgeous socks... but alas re: the eyebrows! Um, can you get implants? ;)

  14. Well, you can always knit new eyebrows out of fun fur i-cord.
Yeah, tht wouldn't be weird at all.

I hope the blues are fleeting.

  15. Love both socks. Every now and then you just gotta knit simple stockinette. I hope you are no longer sad!

  16. Nice socks! I think many of us have had unfortunate eyebrow experiences once or twice. Hopefully it wasn't too bad.

  17. your socks are beautiful ... and thanks for the laugh [sorry it was at your expense tho]. Next time force a smile when you're doing that.

  18. Dude! The socks are awesome. I'm curious about the eyebrows. It can't be worse than when I decided I wanted to try bleaching my eyebrows "just a little bit". They ended up white and freaky looking. So I found some dark red dye to try to bring them back to a more normal color. They turned out pink. PINK. I had to go to work the next day. That was horrible.

  19. Alas, I have no eyebrow horror stories to share. But I do find the purple socks to be AWESOME. :)

  20. The socks look great. And don't worry too much, eyebrows grow back.

  21. Great socks (love both of the colourways, especially the purple), and those stitch markers are way too cool!

  22. Oooh, nothing better than handspun and socks! But your german stockings come pretty close!
    Bummer about the eyebrows.
    Hoping you get happy!

  23. The handspun socks (in the handdyed yarn) are just awesome. Really, really awesome.

I tried waxing my own eyebrows just once. I lost half an eyebrow right before a ballroom dance competition and I will never EVER get near that stuff again. EVER.

  24. HEHEHE! I don't DARE attempt to wax my own eyebrows ever again. I only had one good eyebrow left and I was in a quandry whether to keep it or not. I decided to keep it and fake in the other brow until i grew back.

I love your wire markers. Very cute!
