quick post to show off a day's worth of negative knitting.
Noro Silk Garden, color 224 (lot a)
negative?
i mischarted the lace panel, and a yo is one spot off for 2 repeats. it bugs me... but what bugs me more is i'm not knitta enuf to drop down and fix it with a hook, so i'm taking pics and posting them to shame myself into ripping it out when i get back from my walk to the library with my little bumblebee.
(anyone know what i'm knitting? its a free pattern, available online. more info when it looks like its supposed to, if no one guesses...)
uh, the ORANGE?
there it is! :)
i'm not nearly as sour as i normally would be... wanna know why?
sweet georgia superwash sock yarn
100% superwash merino wool
185 yd/50 gm
black orchid colorway
alyson sent me this amazing yarn from her contest to collect sock/lace/one skein projects (check out her compilation HERE)... i have been drooling over sweet georgia yarns since forever (have you SEEN the kill bill colorway?? goodness, i need a sugar daddy)... so i'm super excited and so thankful (and already have a sock recipient in mind)-- thanks again alyson! :)
sherwood's slowed down, since i just worked on the noro project for the past day or so...
between you me and the chickens, i think the cabling looks weird and messy. my fault, but i'm hoping it looks better from far away/aka on a running toddler when done.
back with more noro next time, i'm wanting to get this project done fast (more on that later, too!)

I've got my first ever Koigu coming from Alyson. The yarn you got was on my list, too, had my first choice been taken!
Not a clue what you're making with the Noro. Dontcha hate it when you mess something up? I did that on my Mystery Socks on the weekend. Crossed a cable the wrong way. Tried to fix it without ripping it back, but it didn't look right so I caved.
Any orange socks on the go yet?
I love the Noro colors, and the cables are lovely. there is enough going on for you not to worry about this, and carry on "as if" if it does not mess the structure- I love to improvise.
sweet georgia- now, was this fair? they are FAB!!!! I love some of the colors too much...
when all the cables are together, it will all fall into place!
I have the Kill Bill!!! (That one was SO not up for grabs.) I love it!
(Oh, and thanks for the small heart attack - when I saw "Hubris" in the title, I was terrified you were going to sneak a link in to my ridiculous photo set. I don't know why I thought that - I guess because I'm all about me.)
I got nothing when it comes to the Noro, but you know if you don't fix the mistake it's going to bother you. Best to do it quick, like ripping off a band-aid.
Hey, I made a sweater with that Noro - even the dye lot is the same - so if you run out, I have 2+ skeins rolling around. If not, Silk Garden knits into warm fuzzy socks and I may make a pair. My favorite part of knitting with this color was the fleeting flashes of orange among the purples.
Sherwood looks great.
I don't know what you are making with the Noro but it looks great - beautiful colors.
C'mon - be brave - picking up with a hook isn't that hard..... :)
Beautiful sock yarn - I'll get my hands on some of her stuff eventually!
Hey, if you're going to rip it anyway, why not give dropping down a try? If it doesn't go well you'll have plenty of fuel for the ripping.
you are so knitta enuf and you don't even know it!
