a new-to-me wheel.
*more later, still feeling carsick effects and have a not-mine wedding tomorrow.
btw,
elmo on a washer!
i love this toy torture, i'm glad i can blame it on kristi's contest. i have also won the official "crazy neighbor" award this week, no doubt.
have a great rest of the weekend yall :)
"Joy to the world...Joy to to and me" That's an Ashford Joy, right? Yipee for you! I'm so happy for you! Hope you have lotsa fun learning to spin on it!
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better by tomorrow! And congrats on the new Ashford! Mendocino? We must live in the same State!
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling better. And have fun trying out that wheel! :D
ReplyDeleteROTFLOL!!! I can understand the torture of Tinky Winky but Elmo...I may be scarred for life.
ReplyDeleteYay for the wheel! I always get carsick on the way to Mendocino. Darn windy roads...
ReplyDeletegood for you! enjoy your wheel. i'm so excited you are going to spin.
ReplyDeleteHave fun with that wheel... and hey, at least Elmo will come out Downy Fresh!!!
ReplyDeleteHave fun with the wheel! Elmo still looks happy!
ReplyDeleteI used to be plagued by dreams of bandits putting my little brother in the washer and having him come out looking like a rag doll (and then having to explain it all to Mom). I did have to wash an Elmo after #1 Son had his only bout of carsickness(it came out fine). Your post will propably have me thinking of my very troubled brother all day. Or avoiding laundry. Congrats on the wheel. Enjoy the wedding.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the wheel!
ReplyDeletePretty good outcome from puking - a new to you wheel!!!! Wooo hooo! A not-your-wedding? I think that answers the none-of-my-beeswax question I've had banging around my head: are you married/partnered?
ReplyDeleteI hope you're feeling better!
What a beautiful wheel, you lucky you!
ReplyDeletePoor Elmo! (grin!)
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better soon!
Hope you feel better and I'm sure you'll enjoy your new wheel!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your new wheel!
ReplyDeleteOooh, new toys.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your nomination- I'm off to case my vote.
oh boy! the wheel looks great, so professional (to me anyway)
ReplyDeleteI am eager to know if you have used it yet, and are you hooked??
Fabulous! Congrats on the new wheel! Let us know how it goes when you take it for a spin around the block.
ReplyDeleteRandom factoid: the guy who does the voice for Elmo is finally going to be revealed for the first time ever on Oprah this Friday. :oP Keep your little one away from the tv. :o)
ReplyDeletethat fricken elmo should be tortured slightly more aggressively: lid closed, body half in, observer sees only one eye.
ReplyDeletelittle swine.
I am a new spinner, too.
ReplyDeleteIf you can find someone to give you a private lesson, take them up on it. Preferably someone patient, but really enthusiastic about their craft.
If you can, use already dyed roving. I just finished spinning some undyed because I couldn't wait to be able to afford some dye. It was a bit boring. I spun with a bit of dyed roving someone gave me, and it was way more fun. I felt like I was making "real" yarn!
Don't get discouraged. When things aren't going well, take a break, read up about spinning, about dyeing, about knitting with handspun. I find that one bit of information will stick in my head and I can take it back to my wheel and just concentrate on it.
Have fun!
Yay to you and your wheel. Elmo in a washer, ha! Thanks for the comment on my sweater!
